Let’s hear it!

"Uncle Buck" stars the legendary John Candy, portraying an easy-going and hapless character named Uncle Buck. Reluctantly, he is asked by his brother to care for his three children: Miles (played by Macauley Culkin), Maizy (played by Gaby Hoffman), and the older rebellious teenager, Tia (portrayed by Jean Louisa Kelly). The heart of the movie revolves around Uncle Buck's journey of caring for the children and stumbling through the process.

Despite having no prior experience with kids, Uncle Buck, who prefers drinking and gambling, steps up to meet the needs of his nieces and nephews, leading to some hilariously memorable moments. From preparing an enormous pancake for breakfast to attempting to dry laundry in a microwave, his antics are both amusing and endearing.

The movie also focuses on Buck's clash with Tia, who believes she knows best and refuses to listen to her uncle, choosing instead to spend time with her boyfriend, "Bug" (played by Jay Underwood). This results in even more humorous and cringe-worthy situations, especially when Buck tries to intimidate "Bug." One unforgettable scene involves Buck showing "Bug" a hatchet in his car, intending to be funny rather than sinister.

Buck's actions throughout the film stem from his deep love and care for his family. Despite his occasional incompetence, he remains a warm and lovable character that audiences can't help but root for.

"Uncle Buck" is undoubtedly one of the best John Candy movies ever made, and its timeless humor keeps viewers coming back for more. It's a lighthearted and entertaining film that never fails to elicit laughter. Whether you're a fan of John Candy or enjoy feel-good comedies, this movie comes highly recommended. You'll find yourself laughing so hard that you might miss some jokes on the first watch, making it worth revisiting multiple times.

While "Uncle Buck" doesn't rely on special effects, it doesn't need them to succeed. The film's standout moment, the giant pancake, is a delight in itself. If you haven't seen it yet, be sure to check out the attached trailer for a taste of the fun that awaits you in this comedic gem. - Alex
